Porous Functional Graded Bioceramics with Integrated Interface Textures

چکیده
Porous functional graded ceramics (porous FGCs) offer immense potential to overcome the low mechanical strengths of homogeneously porous bioceramics used as bone grafts. The tailored manipulation pore structure including interfaces in these materials is particular interest locally control microstructural and properties, well biological response implant. In this work, FGCs with integrated interface textures were fabricated by a novel two-step transfer micro-molding technique using alumina hydroxyapatite feedstocks varied amounts spherical formers (0–40 Vol%) generate well-defined porosities. Defect-free could be realized for various porosity pairings, leading continuous discontinuous transition porosity. microstructure three different periodic patterns (planar, 2D-linear waves 3D-Gaussian hills) was investigated SEM µCT showed shape accurate replication CAD-designed model ceramic sample. Young’s modulus flexural strength bi-layered bending bars 0 30 Vol% determined compared homogeneous hydroxyapaite containing 0–40 formers. A significant reduction observed FGCs, attributed damping effects at interface. Flexural 4-point-testing revealed that failure did not occur interface, but rather layer, proving does represent source weakness microstructure.

Graded/Gradient Porous Biomaterials
Biomaterials include bioceramics, biometals, biopolymers and biocomposites and they play important roles in the replacement and regeneration of human tissues. However, dense bioceramics and dense biometals pose the problem of stress shielding due to their high Young’s moduli compared to those of bones. On the other hand, porous biomaterials exhibit the potential of bone ingrowth, which will dep...
متن کاملPainting Textures with a Haptic Interface
We present a method for painting texture maps directly onto trimmed NURBS models using a haptic interface. The haptic interface enables an artist to use a natural painting style while creating a texture. It avoids the traditional difficulty of mapping between the 2D texture space and the 3D model space by using parametric information available from our haptic tracing algorithm. The system maps ...

We fabricated the multi-stacked graded refractive index (GRIN) porous amorphous germanium (a-Ge) films with linear, quintic, and Gaussian index profiles for their refractive indices at a wavelength of 1.33 μm by e-beam evaporation with a glancing angle deposition technique. The porous a-Ge films with inclined nanocolumnar structures were deposited on Ge substrates at incident vapor flux angles ...
متن کاملTowards an Integrated Model for Functional and User Interface Requirements
Despite the widespread adoption of UML as a standard for modeling software systems, it does not provide adequate support for specifying User Interface (UI) requirements. It has become a common practice to separately use UML use cases for specifying functional requirements and task models for modeling UI requirements. The lack of integration of these two related models is likely to introduce red...
متن کاملFlexural-torsional stability of sandwich tapered I-beams with a functionally graded porous core
The present research deals with the flexural-torsional buckling analysis of sandwich web and/or flanges tapered doubly-symmetric I-beam. All section walls are composed of two metal face layers and a functionally graded (FG) porous core. It is assumed that the material properties of the porous core vary gradually in the longitudinal direction according to the simple power-law function considerin...
